Remember  assessments are 60% of the math grade.

Week of Sept. 15th-Sept 19th:

Grading period ends on Friday, Sept. 19th.  Make sure students have turned in quiz corrections and/or  retaken any quizzes.  Quiz retakes will be given during my office Thursday hours.

Thursday:
Periods 1,3 & 5: Homework Due Friday.  Quiz on Friday
Periods 2& 3:  In class we worked on long division focussing one 2 digits into 4 digits.

Wednesday:
Periods 1,3 & 5: Homework Due Friday.
More Division of decimals.
Periods 2& 3:  In class we worked on long division focussing one 1 digit into 3 digits.
Tuesday:
Periods 1,3 & 5: Homework Due Wednesday.
Division of decimals.
Periods 2& 3:  In class we reviewed adding and subtracting decimals by playing "the traveling Math problem".

Monday 9/15:
Periods 1,3 & 5: Homework Due Wednesday.
Division of decimals.

Periods 2 & 3:  In class we worked on multi-digit multiplication.  Levels 1 - 4.  Some students moved on to level 5: Multiplying decimals (common core standard).

Week of Sept. 8th - Sept. 12th

Wednesday, 9/10/14:
Periods 1,5 & 6:  Today during class we will be applying the algorithm for multiplying multi digit decimals in a real world situation.  In class, the students will be working on "school supply" shopping list.

Periods 2 & 3:  Today, we will be practicing multiplying multi-digit whole numbers.  Students will be able to apply this to their 6th grade common core math  class.


Tuesday:
Periods 1, 5, & 6:
Due Wednesday:  Part 1 Multiplying decimals and quiz corrections*
* Quiz corrections must be done on a sheet of binder paper.

Periods 2 & 3:
Today in math lab we reviewed how to subtract decimals.  We tap into our kinetic learning by moving to the rules:  Addition/ subtraction line up the decimals. Addition/ subtraction line up the decimals. MULTIPLICATION move the decimal.
Monday, 9/8/14:

Periods 1, 5, & 6:

Periods 2 & 3:  Today in math lab we reviewed how to add decimals.  The number one mistake students make when adding decimals is they forget to line them up!
In class, we worked on decimal list addition.  We corrected and collected this page.
We also watched this crazy video to help us to remember to "Line them up!"

Week of Sept. 2nd - Sept.5th

Friday:
Periods 1, 5, &6 : Quiz
Periods 2 & 3:  Subtracting decimals task cards

Wednesday, 9/3- Thursday, 9/4:
Periods 1, 5 & 6: Due Friday
Adding and subtracting decimals

Period 2 & 3: Today, we focussed on subtracting multi-digit whole numbers with regrouping.  This is a skill needed for 6th grade common core math class.

Tuesday, 9/2:
Periods 1,5 & 6:  Quiz corrections.
Please correct any missed problems from your quiz on a separate sheet of paper.
Quiz retakes will be given on Thursday After school.

Periods 2 & 3: Today we finished our math project and reviewed on the laptops.
